St. George, UTAH hike to the Petroglyphs

Summer started out in St. George this year.  We had layovers in Tokyo, L.A., flew to Las Vegas, then  picked up our rental car and drove to St. George.  This whole process took a mere 28 hours or so. We were exhausted when we arrived but soon recovered and had a blast exploring the beauty of the desert!

One of our favorite activities this summer was this fun hike.  Grandma & Grandpa's friend showed us a sweet hike to the petroglyphs, along the Anasazi trail.  It is near The Biggest Loser camp, for those familiar with the St. George area.
We got up early and headed out to beat the heat.  You can tell it's still pretty hot though!

Grandma and her friend Kathy led the way.

Even Sky hiked.

Best buddies.

Mom "trying to be best buddies" with Bailey

Mike, Carson & Jack got pretty adventurous on the rocks.

Here's Mike taking a photo of a snake they saw.

My favorite way to spend the morning: hiking with my favorite people!

Last Day of School 2012

I TRY to remember to take photos on the first and last day of school every year.  Here are the shots from the last day of school this year; June 5, 2012.
The Mohawk was getting a bit too long!

This is the Carson & Jack I know and love!

Bailey & Britta walked to school together everyday in 6th & 7th grade!
We miss her showing up on our doorstep every morning with her
brekky in her hand.

Is your freshman year really over?  Sammy made it through her first year of high school ...
with lots of late night homework but lots of fun times mixed in too.

Daynes Family Reunion (DFR) at San Elijo

                                                         Daynes Family Reunion
                                                        San Elijo Beach, San Diego
                                                          July 30 - Aug. 3, 2012

It is so easy to characterize the Daynes family using only one, single word:  F-U-N.  This year at the DFR was no exception!

Mike went crazy at R.E.I. buying tents, lanterns, sleeping bags, blow up bedrolls...so I guess we are campers now.

Cousin time at the campsite is bliss!
Uncle Mark drove up from Arizona with how many boards on the top of his truck?

Jack playing with cousin Davey on the fire pit.

Skylar is so lucky to have 4 other girl cousins her same age.
Here are 2 of them: Janie and Summer.

Grandad was teaching Sky about the waves.  Priceless!

Jack & Davey again.

Fun party games for aunts, uncles

and, of course, cousins!

We all piled in our cars one morning and drove to Anaheim to see the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

It was a blast!

Back at the beach the uncles/ grandad hit the surf.

Sky and her shadow!

Cousin Quin!

We held "The Daynes Olympics" on the beach.

Mike wowed us with his gymnastics "floor" routine.

Think he got some high scores from the judges!

Cousin Lauren's turn.

Uncle D.J.

Carson and Jefferson

Talent Show at a church nearby. All the 2006's performed together.
