I feel extremely blessed to have good health, fabulous friends and a loving, supportive family at this time in my life!
I was extremely spoiled by my fam and friends for this birthday which made it hard for me to moan too much about how unhappy I was about moving into my fourth decade of life!
My parents sent me a beautiful pair of opal earrings. I was really touched by this thoughtful gift. Opal is my birth stone and my mom sent them to Mike's office so I'd have them on my big day. My parents have always given me awesome gifts for my b-days and Christmas...my whole life! Thanks mom and dad.
My b-day morning started out great. Breaky in bed from Carson, Jack & Mike, followed by brunch at Hatched, a fun all day egg joint, with my girlfriends.
The girls surprised me with a basket full of goodies for my upcoming birthday trip to South Africa. They are such thoughtful, creative gals.
On Friday night, October 7, Mike and my good friend Sarah Furner, had a birthday bash for me on a Chinese boat.
(These were the captains of our ship!)
The boat was due to leave the dock at 6:15pm. As all of the guests were trying to arrive it was one of those terrible, typhoon-like storms on pretty much the entire island. Some of my friends arrived drenched from the crazy rain. The storm didn't keep us from heading out to sea though and it was actually nice to enjoy some cool weather on the boat! We loved enjoying the breeze and the views of the beautiful Singapore skyline from the upper deck:

I love having such amazing party planners for 2 of my best pals in Singapore, Mike Daynes and Sarah Furner. Mike has thrown me so many amazing parties over the years for my birthdays...#23, 30, 39 and now 40 were the most memorable! Thanks for the fun. I can't wait to see what he does for my 80th!
