Carson has got it going on!!!

This guy has some very unique character traits! My favorite trait is his amazing sense of humor! He keeps us rolling with some of the stuff he comes up with.

He is a lover who has kissed his "girlfriend" 4 times now.

However, he has a FIERCE competitive side! (Don't let the smiles fool you.)

So...I've been a little bit worried since December about Carson when he was handed the kit to make his very first PINE WOOD DERBY CAR.

Carson's car is the one on the right that looks like a mascot for the San Diego Chargers. #43 is Darren Sproles number, as you can tell by the matching football jersey that Carson is wearing.

When I saw this table of trophies set up for the winners I became nervous. I knew Carson would be sad if he didn't go home with one of those big ones.

I didn't have to worry for long because Carson's car won all 4 of its races! He came first place in the Tiger division!

Here he is showing off his bling on the podium.

Way to go Carson! His car came in third place overall. 170 cars were entered in the derby so that is a nice showing.

Also, way to go Spencer! He is our neighbor and great friend who was the brains behind this winning car. He is the one who helped Mike and Carson on the road to victory. (He really deserves a medal for a job well done!) Spencer also took some photos of the derby and made a movie out of his shots. You can watch it at the following site:

(This was created from still shots.)

Since I'm writing all about Carson today there's one last little known fact I'd like to share:

He adores his baby sister!!!

Those Sunday Ni-ites

Sunday tends to be a long day...especially when Mike is out of town. He's been away the past 2 Sundays (traveling in the U.S. for work/Monster Jam World Finals) so those days have seemed especially long! Luckily we have the best neighbors ever who invite us to dinner and go for walks with us and help entertain us on those long Sundays!

Today we went for a walk over to the track/field at SAS to let the kids run around and get out some of their unlimited amounts of energy!

Here are some fun shots of the Daynes/Stevens gangs:

(Lisel & Sammy)

We took "Flat Stanley" with us that cousin Paige Bartschi sent us all the way from
Bountiful, UTAH. The boys had fun taking him on some adventures in our Singapore neighborhood.

Skylar is fortunate to have a lot of love in her life! Here she is with some of her admirers:

(Bailey & Britta)

Sky with Jocelyn Stevens - my wonderful friend who is recovering from major back surgery and is not supposed to be holding babies right now!!!

Skylar liked the track. She beat everyone in the 100 meter crawl.

This was Skylar's first time on grass? Do you think she liked it?

A night time walk wouldn't be complete without some cockroach sightings:

7 months and crawling

Skylar is 7 1/2 months old now.

She can sit.

She can crawl.

She can pull herself up to standing.

She can play with her friends.

She can get held upside down by her sister.

She seems too little to be doing all of these things!

Taylor Swift

TAYLOR SWIFT CAME TO SINGAPORE IN CONCERT on Feb. 9!!! Sammy and Bailey are both HUGE fans of TS so we had been looking forward to Taylor's arrival in Singapore for many months. Since Taylor's mom was raised in Singapore we thought we might see Miss Swift cruising around the island in the days leading up to the concert so we were on the lookout for her. No pre-concert sightings were had by us but she was spotted in Chinatown the day before the concert by some of her fans.

Sammy and Bailey have the coolest dad ever who had 4 FREE tickets to the event! So, Mike and I went to the concert with the girls and we let the girls each get a t-shirt as a memory of one of the best days of their lives so far!

TS actually kicked off her world tour in Singapore so it was fun to be the first stop on her tour and see her while she was "fresh."

She started the night by singing "Sparks Fly" and ended with "Love Story." My personal favorite was "Speak Now"...she and her back-up girls came out in bridesmaid's dresses and then Taylor pushed her way into the audience all the way to the back of the stadium. Her fans were grabbing her the entire way she could barely walk through them...except her 6 bodyguards were leading the way through the crowd for her.

Sammy & Bailey (& me) made some signs for them to hold up at the show to get Taylor's attention and, you know, let her know how much she's loved in Singapore.

My friend Emily sat with us and Bailey & Sammy sat with their friends.

Here she is giving some love back to her fans!!!

Mike and I have been to A LOT of concerts in this stadium over the last 6 years and I have to admit that this concert was one of my favorites...I think it's the 15 year old in me! I had almost as much fun as my girls did! Sammy & Bailey knew every word to every song...it was fun to see them singing along.

This was Sammy & Bailey's first real concert so now they are hooked. Justin Bieber is the next big thing to come to town so we're getting psyched for that concert too!
